Beyond the drugs

This a truly heart wrenching movie.

It's a movie that depicts the "american dream" of a man, who didn't want to end up poor like his father. As time goes along, he has more and more to lose.
A wife and a daughter.

I can watch this movie over and over again. Johnny Depps performance is beautiful, the man can say so much without saying anything.
You really feel for this character, even if he shouldn't have started drug dealing in the first place.

One line in the movie, which is sure to tug at heartstrings of people with or without children, is a scene in which George (Johnny Depp) and his wife, (Penelope Cruz) have just had an argument in the kitchen, and his daughter is sitting at the kitchen table, and see's the whole thing.
The dialog is as follows:

George: Everything's gonna be okay, sweetheart. Don't be upset.
Young Kristina Jung: What's happening to us?
George: I don't know.
Young Kristina Jung: Are we gonna split up?
George: No, never. Don't even think about that, it's impossible. I love your mother and you are my heart. Could I live without my heart? Could I?

As the movie goes on, that line will stick in your head.

This movie goes much deeper than most "Drug dealing" movies, and I would recommend this movie to anyone.

I've never seen it, though I know should.

Oh, Franka Potente, when will you come and be with me?

*sigh*

Please. I'm sure she thinks of Mike Ness while she's forced to look at me. She'll just be happy that I didn't say Christina Aguilera.

And we should totally just take over everyone else's comments today.

I think Ray Liotta as his father was my favorite performance. But I wouldn't go so far as to give it 5 stars simply because Cruz is SO f*ckING ANNOYING as the wife. (Yes, Cap-locked "Annoying")

Yes she is annoying, but Johnny Depp heals all wounds.

For some reason, the first time I saw this movie I just really connected with it.
