Lets here it for Manchester

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of British film and this is one of my favorites.

This movie tells the story of Jimmy Grimble an avid Manchester City fan. Young Jimmy is a shy teenager who is the only Man City fan in a high school full of Manchester United fans, which inevitabley makes him an easy target for bullies and the butt of most jokes.

Like most English lads all Jimmy wants to do is play for his favorite football team when he leaves school. However he ain't no David Beckham. That is until he is given a pair of magic boots, which propel him to success on his high school football team, with the help of his coach played by Robert Carlyle.

They used a bunch of local Manchester actors in this movie and Ben Miller was great as Jimmy's mum's hapless boyfriend.

I love this movie, maybe because I lived all my life 10 mile from Manchester. This is the movie I put on when I need cheering up I highly recommend it.

It's going on the Netflix queue. In fact, I love how queue is used on Netflix, since it's such a British term and therefore applies so well here.
