Movie Review by Misty
February 6th, 2007

Ballet + Hiphop = Fun!

A young girl with the skills in dance that you wouldn't believe working her way up for an audition at Juilliard. With a very supportive, but sometimes busy mother rushing to see her audition. You add a rainy night with the speed of a hurrying mom and you get a fatal crash that leaves a young girls hope crushed and sends her to a new place with a man she hardly knows...her father!

Struggling with the death of her mother and the new surroundings and people, she kind of looses touch with her dancing and just tries to disappear in the crowded halls of her new school, but being the person she is gains a few friends fast and soon is introduced to the exciting world of hip-hop dance in a local club that the kids frequent.

She picks up the dance quickly, but also picks up a new friend...who forces her to face her feelings about her mother and gets her back into dance. Their relationship developes and she realizes that he has problems of his own.

I don't want to give away too much, so if you've passed Save The Last Dance in the isles at the video store for the last (almost) 7 years...don't you think it's about time you picked it up?

I laughed when I saw that you'd reviewed this because I came THISCLOSE to doing a review myself earlier today. But I'm trying to restrain myself to see if people can catch up with me.
