An Easter story

Some may call it sacrilegious to compare the resurrection of Jesus to the resurrection of a Virginia town through football, but I see the Easter story in this movie. The self-importance exhibited by the Pharisees and the resulting hatred of those different, was no different from the hate exhibited by the town fathers in Virginia. The insistence of brotherhood by the coach, as played magnificently by Denzel Washington, resulted in a rebirth of the town - a resurrection from the hatred that blinded, and sometimes still blinds, the sons of the Old South. None of us is perfect, but we can all come together and form a perfect society. That was the vision of Jesus and the vision of our forefathers. Remember the Titans reminds us of what we can accomplish if we try - and if we try with love.

And, besides that, it is another chance to see Denzel.

Not sure about your Easter story analogy but it was a very good movie.

It's not the most memorable of sports flicks for me, but I do love the ending when you find out that the fat dumb kid (the wonderful Ethan Suplee) got into college. That alone choked me up.
