A Wonderful Film Achievement
Saving Private Ryan had set a benchmark for future war films to come later, in the years that follow, The Patriot was released in 2001, 3 years after Saving Private Ryan was released. The Patrot is a war film directed by Roland Emmerich, the man who had released Independence Day in 1996. The Patrot is a carefully measured, heart felt war film which delas with not only the deep and harsh reality of war, but what a man would risk for his family. Roland Emmerich shows us extremely graphic and detailed war scenes, and makes a drama around all of that which makes the movie more convincing.
The Patrot is about Benjamin Bartin, a war hero currently thrown back into the was during the American Revolution. When his son was killed by British leader William Tavington, his other son Gabriel then joins to fight. They create a small allie of men to fight against the odds, and get revenge.
Mel Gibson is truly an amazing and settled actor. After creating Braveheart, directing and acting in it, I really saw his talent show onto the screen. Then, he creates films like The Passion of The Christ and Apocalypto, which were amazing in many ways. Well, Benjamin Bartin, as a character himself, is absoulutely and great character. Mel Gibsons performance is simply stunning and great.
The action scenes in the Patriot are truly fantastic. Theyre created with precision and accuracy, creating all the blood and gore carefully.
Botttom Line: Wonderful
