Mission Abort

As much as this pains me to say it,this is not a complete flick. Now I'm a fan of Brain De Palma's work,I've always felt that he had a good sense of fluidity.Unfortunately all the talent surrounding this film never transferred to the reel that played across the country. As afore mentioned the script is a bit flimsy, and the characters are a little watered down which means that even the best actors would have difficulty connecting to and portraying the story.I felt that given what was handed to them that for the mopst part the cast does an admirable job of keeping this ship afloat.Sinise who I feel is kind of underrated delivers a strong performance along with Robbins and Cheadle(also very underrated) all things considering.De Palma never really got this one into orbit and with what he had to work with it's no surprise he had to tackle this film from a visual perspective.Taking advantage of modern technology to produce some awe inspiring shots in hopes that it would deflect from the things this film was lacking.I cant say that I hated this film simply because of the conceptual ideas that were intertwined into the storyline.I felt that the idea(not the story) was quite interesting and had it been put together better this one might have been a big hit.All in all it's not a movie you should go out of your way to see.And if you have seen it it's not the type of flick you'd be quoting any time soon.
