Danny Boyle ....the pride of Manchester

Richard (DiCaprio) did what many of us dream of, he took a break from the norm in hopes to walk the path less traveled. We pick with Richard in Thailand where he's staying in a hostel (like most backpackers) it is here he meets Daffy (Robert Carlyle) a strange paranoid man who comes across like he's dropped one too many tabs of acid. Daffy speaks to Richard of this Island which had an abundance of marijuana plants and where a few people had set up camp. The next day it appears that Daffy has off'd himself and slips a map to the Island under Richards door. Richard had previously spotted a attractive young woman (who he fancied a bit of hows-yeh-father with...wink, wink...nudge, nudge...if you know what I mean) and decided to see if she was up for taking a trip to a secret island......As fate would have it she has a boyfriend, never the less all 3 of them head off to find the island. The island turns out to be a nice little new age hippy commune with ample weed for everyone, and they all live happily ever after ....well not exactly it all goes kinda pear shaped and a few people die along the way.

The only down side to this movie was how popular it was (I know I'm and indie snob) oh and that hideous song by "All Saints"....other wise it was really good and I was mucho entertained....Danny Boyle rocks.
