BLAH

I think PT Anderson is a great director, to the point that I'm willing to defend my opinion on that to people who think I'm lame for believing so.

However... this is a horrible film. Uneven, dark and not in a good way, ugly characters in loathsome unnecessary situations... it's bleak and pointless. I can tolerate bleak as long as I understand where the director was going and what they were trying to point out.

There was no point to this, other than to get an opportunity to portray Tom Cruise in the slimy role that he was more destined to play than most people imagined at the time.

Boring, slow, unlikeable and just plain bad. And not in a good way.
