Movie Review by Zara
March 14th, 2007

Largely forgotten... for shame!

The first movie to be made about Bush Sr's war, there is a degree of comedy, drama and action added in all at the same time, combined with a sense of good will.

While I've grown to be annoyed by George Clooney and his constant posturing about how he knows more about politics and the war than you do, but please! Don't ask him any of those questions (*rolls eyes*), he is a strong serviceman here. Something about the way that he looks is convincing in the role, even if you know what his off-camera beliefs are.

Normally I'm bored to tears with movies about war. I have to bear witness to too many news reports with all of the cable channels dedicated to them and their constant coverage, even of sh*t that doesn't matter and especially of sh*t that is filtered through the government.

But with this film I was entertained. The sharp dialog, the fact that it's directed by a man whose first two films were sarcasticly biting comedies, the cast (right around the time that Ice Cube was really finding his feet in movies), all of it contribute to a great overall product.

And it's timely, what with Bush Jr's war going on now. If you need a little perspective, give this movie a shot.
