Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie

Instant Classic

One of my favorites.

This story of a tragic little man who wants to be so much more and does almost anything he can do to get it is a heart-breaking thriller from start to finish.

Matt Damon gives, arguably, the greatest performance of his career as Tom Ripley. He is spell-binding and terrifying in his strange world.

Jude Law is perfection as Dickie Greenleaf, the man every man wants to be. You love every inch of him and we all sympathize with Ripley's jealousy.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Cate Blanchett all give great peformances that compliment the stellar work by Damon.

I have no idea why so many people underestimate this cinematic achievement by Anthony Minghella, it is probably his best film.
