Movie Review by Zara

Surprising

When I watched this movie, it was one of those "for the record" watching. I will watch movies that I really have no interest in just so that I can say that I saw them. I had little interest in watching a movie about a husband and wife in the middle of their crumbling relationship and especially not if it were these two actors. Bruce Willis and Michelle Pheiffer seem incredibly mismatched for me.

What happened was a movie that ended up surprising me. Much of it is told in flashbacks, from the time that the couple meet on through various milestones in their relationship. I cried fairly hard even though it's sappy and something that I would normally have laughed if I saw other people boo-hooing over.

This most definitely is not a great movie for the guy who isn't in touch with his feelings or hasn't gone through some relationship problems (or has but really doesn't care). A chick flick, I suppose, but one that's worth the time and effort to check out.

This is a good true drama, not much comedy in it which is rare to see one genre explored without other genre's accenting the film.

Interesting that Tom Poston died this week and this is the only film of his that you have listed that anyone bothered to review. He had 95 film and TV appearances, but I don't recall anything but the Bob Newhart Show.
