Creep-tastic!
This movie creeped me the f*ck out the first time I watched it. A few years later when I watched it again, even though I knew the ending, it STILL creeped me out. There is something about it that gets under your skin and makes you feel like you're crawling with bugs.
Kevin Bacon started to get brave later in his career and his role in this movie is perfect. A guy who's tough around the edges and suddenly develops a connection to the dead after being put under hypnosis, driving himself and his family crazy with his obsession in finding out what went on in his house.
This is a flick that you watch with the lights out and if you can, alone. The perfect creepy thriller that delivers (and hints of where M Night might have stolen the idea for THE SIXTH SENSE.)

| This is one of my favorites. I went to see it instead of The Sixth Sense, and it was the right choice. Not only for Bacon, but for the hot chick from Law and Order: CI, and the always impressive Illeana Douglas. You should read the Richard Matheson source novel. Very different, but very good. Also, you have to watch the commentary with David Koepp. He proves himself to b a worthy genre fanboy and cinema geek. |
