Movie Review by BillyBob
February 18th, 2008

_______ :(

Favorite Movie Quote: "____ __ ___ _____!"

IS
THIS
FORMULA
TRUE?

If
The 1st Sense
is carefully combined with
The 5th Sense
it automatically becomes
The 6th Sense (!!??).........Or, is it all nothing but (Non)-Sense?

So, what is 'People Dead See I' spoken backwards? Ooooh! This is just so deep, it's downright scary. Which is more than I can say for this movie.

You know, I've got a bit of the old 6th Sense myself. I do. Yeah. My 6th Sense kicks in whenever I'm watching movies. And it goes something like this......If the movie I'm watching doesn't start cooking within the first half hour then my 6th Sense goes into major alert and I know instinctively that now's the time to turn this rubbish off. It works beautifully 99% of the time and it's saved me from wasting an evening watching something totally worthless right to the bitter end.

But there are times when I don't listen to my 6th Sense and I remain determined to watch some frickin' piece of junk straight through to the finish. And, of course, I always-always-always regret it in the end. ALWAYS!!! Take this movie 'The 6th Sense' as a perfect example. I think that it's so ironic (?) that a film with a title such as this should set off my very own 6th Sense, sending me an immediate, imperative warning to 'TURN THIS CRAP OFF!!'

So, anyway, I watched 'The 6th Sense' (or 'TSS' for short) right thru' to the finale. (YAWN!) And, guess what? Yep. That's right. I should've listened to my marvellous 6th Sense 'cause I sure detested this one within the first 15 minutes.

So, now, here I am ready to tell the tale of surviving the unendurable.............

The dismal failure of 'TSS' is a prime example of what I like to call the 'Super-Stardom Syndrome' (or, 'SSS' for short). This means that I place about 90% of the blame for this fiasco on the shoulders of the 'Super-Star' who's behind the title role in the picture. In this case that actor would be, none other, than Mr. Bruce Willis.

Here are some known facts about Willis's 'Star-Power' that may explain why I find so many of his pictures suffer unbearably from 'SSS'. Hollywood deems Willis a 'Super Star'. This gives Willis the royal privilege of having movie contracts that place him in total, absolute control of 'His' pictures. Due to the size of Willis's ego his blinkered, self-serving demands can become downright ridiculous and petty. Willis can order 1000 retakes of a scene if he so chooses. If the film is ready for release Willis can stop that release and have additional scenes shot to his liking. Willis has the authority to choose whatever Director he wants. Willis always chooses weak directors whom he can bully and boss around. Willis will insist on being in certain scenes even though this makes no sense to the story and a weak director will never oppose him on this.

What a headache. What a shame.

As you can well imagine a top-of the-ladder actor with 'SSS' who is both talentless and self-centered can do plenty of serious damage to an otherwise worthwhile picture. Willis is very much guilty of all of this. He has, literally, ruined many a fruitful movie production all on account of a sickness called 'SSS'.

'TSS' is a perfect example of 'SSS'. Willis almost single-handedly pulls this one right down to his usual level of drab and incoherent. My 6th Sense told me this would be so. And who the hell did I think I was opposing my very own 6th Sense.

If you're very own 6th Sense is telling you that I am not a Willis fan, then you would be correct. Your 6th Sense can tell you all kinds of things. You should feel confident enough to rely on it more often. My 6th Sense tells me that Willis needs to be knocked off his royal pedestal once and for all and fed to the rabid dogs of peasants.

Fortunately this is the sort of movie you can only watch once, but I doubt you'd be willing to give it another shot...

Oh yeah, "rabid dogs of peasants" - mwah-ha-haaaaa.

I find all Shyamalan's movies like that, and I couldn't even watch more than 30 minutes of "signs" that movie was one hell of a wankfest.

Was Willis in 'Signs', too? That would explain it being a wank-fest.

'Rabid Dogs of Peasants' is right....Or whatever else it takes to dethrone this wiener.
