Movie Review by Tim
April 3rd, 2008

For you pot smokers...

Favorite Movie Quote: "It is a documentary"

Documentary's are usually either really good or really bad....usually not in between. I watched this really only because there was nothing better on.

I do not smoke pot and although I know tons of people that do and swear by it I never have gotten into the whole pot scene. Some of my friends think that Half Baked is the best movie ever made and even though I love Dave Chappelle I'm not a big fan of the film. The reason I don't like it according to everyone that smokes pot is because its a pothead film and if your not a smoker then you don't understand it. Isn't it funny how often people use the whole "you don't understand something" line whenever you disagree with them.

So even though I am not into pot / grass / marijuana / or whatever else you want to call it, I can still enjoy a good documentary but this one was anything but that.

They got Woody Harrelson to narrate which ironically he did for FREE, Harrelson has been an avid supporter of weed for many years even showing up to award shows wearing suits made of hemp. I was expecting him to be more comical or something...it sounded like an old folk reading something written from the 40's.

The video footage they found was described in the previews as being a comical look at the past on weed, however I did not find it comical at all. I found it extremely boring and I am a history channel fanatic...I like anything to do with the history of anything but the way they tried to sell this story was just a horrible approach of trying to retro a topic that's already been retro fitted.
