For the love of Baseball and Costner

Kevin Costner seems to round out his unofficial triology of baseball films with "For the Love of the Game".

Kevin Costner plays Bill Chapel who at the start of the film is probably playing in his last game. The rest of the movie that follows is either a flashback between things that have happened in his relationship with Kelly Prestons character and him playing the game.

This film is not as strong as his previous baseball movies like "Bull Durham" or "Field of Dreams" but it is a nice little piece showing a man who realizes the best things in life that are left for him are just ahead while another part of his life is being left behind.

It's simple and poetic.

Kevin Costner gets on my nerves. I never had a lot of interest in watching this one.
