Watch out for them Aussie's

I must point out before I even get to the film, that the soundtrack is f*cking awesome and great for chilling out to, Delirium do a wicked remix of Silence by Sara McLaughlin.

Ok now that's out of the way we'll get to the movie. Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale play Alice and Darlene best friends who have just graduated high school and are planning to spend summer in Hawaii. Their plans change when they here that Thailand is way more fun so the girls head off without informing their parents of their change of plans. Unfortunately Thailand isn't as much fun as they expected, their room's sucks and just as they are about to be turffed out of a fancy hotel pool they are save by the dashing Nick. Nick's and Aussie (and we all know they can't be trusted, them being convicts an all ;) ) who charms the pants of the two young girls. Slimy Nick tells the girls that they should check out Hong Kong with him, but as they go through customs Alice and Darlene are found to be smuggling heroine. Nick has done a vanishing act and Alice and Darlene are thrown into a nightmarish Thai prison and are left to at the mercy of the corrupt Thai legal system.

This movie hit close to home as I had a college friend who spent 18 months in an Ianapa prison on similar charges. My biggest complaint about Claire Danes is that she's a great actress but her recent film choices haven't been the greatest, but this one is worth watching.
