Movie Review by James
February 14th, 2008

A great ensemble cast. That's what, for me, really made this movie into what it was. Norton, Furlong, Keach, Gould, Balk, D'Angelo and Brooks all give stellar performances. The story is well done, showing that humans can change and that family is usually the most important thing in life. And I wouldn't be surprised if Alan Ball credited Kaye as an influence on American Beauty, names aside. Both have a subtle, melodrama flowing through them. A hyper-realistic feel, like this is a fable instead of real life.

And for the record, the proposed alternate ending I would've liked more, but that's just me.
