Movie Review by F A B
April 20th, 2007

It's all to easy....

This is one of my favorite films for so many reasons I mean I can go on and on.Sam Raimi directs one of his best works in this twisted tale of a scheme. The cast is all around rock solid, and the plot is worked to a tee.It all starts off so innocently, snowy hills, sleepy town, laid back townfolk. The story takes us to the house of Hank(Paxton) who lives with his wife(Fonda) and brother Jacob(Thornton).Hank is the bread winner and the brother with some intelligence, with his wife there at his side. The two brothers would go out hunting in the woods accompanied by Jacobs' friend Lou(Briscoe) to kill time during the day. While they are out on one of the usual hunts they come across something a little less than usual.A downed plane, the men being curious go to the crash site to check out the situation. They find a dead pilot in the front and a duffle bag in the back. They retrieve the bag and open it to find a couple million dollars inside. The three men quickly decide that they need to take the bag and go before someone else finds the plane. They agree to have Hank safeguard the money and hold onto to it just to see if anyone comes looking for it.If no one comes by to claim the cash they'll just keep the loot and split it three ways.Well you can almost sense where things are going but the fun isn't in figuring out the plot,it's going along for the ride.As time goes by each one of the men start to encounter ever more stressful situations and as the pressures mount they slowly start to crack.Soon one by one they each have become more untrusting, deceitful, and plotting against one another. The story picks up pace as we watch the three men slowly unravel and completely lose it.It gets to the point where they're at each others throats. But to make matters worse someone eventually does come looking for that plane and it begins to attract more and more flies.Watching Hank try to juggle a cover-up while dealing with his friends going nuts as well as his self is all the more entertaining.By the end of this one you're left with this sense of shock and just one question....was it all worth it???for that money, was it really worth the price????....and that's when the moral really gets to you and you think, hey this movie it isn't half bad,not half bad at all.
