Movie Star Loves Normal Man
This was on TV last night and it reminded me how much I actually did like this movie.
I mean, I know I love Hugh Grant, but I am not the biggest Julia Roberts person, yet somehow she is less annoying and very fresh when working with Mr. Stammer.
They have surprising chemistry in this story about a normal guy who falls in love with the biggest movie star on earth (kind of foreshadows Roberts' marriage to cameraman Danny Moder). But the best part of this movie is the supporting cast.
The dinner party scene when William (Grant) first introduces Anna (Roberts) to his friends and family is classic and get us all to ask ourselves how we would act if our friend started dating a superstar, would we follow her into the bathroom?
But the standout is Rhys Ifans as Grant's wack-job roommate. The man is a comic epic and should be cast in far more things.
A Good time romp.
