What else is there to say about a film that has been hailed by so many? Its got an intriguing plot, great characters and great character development and, of course, top notch special effects and action sequences. The Wachowski Brothers definitely created a product that serves as a scifi/kung fu/cyberpunk/anime fanboy's wet dream.

Unfortunatly, the supposed intention of making a trilogy I believe were a true farce. The studio saw the commercial and critical success of the film and capitalized on it with the addition of two more films. The Wachowskis, rather than focusing on making a well-developed adventure, concentrated on all of these mult-layered contexts and themes that lied within the premise, causing confusion and eventual boredom. But those are two seperate films that will be covered another time. Until then, this is the absolute best of the three.

I find that watching the two sequels over again makes them a little better each time. I was dissapointed with the second one after critics hailed it with "the best car chase scene ever" and it brought real dissapointment.

The third one I thought was the weakest link and then HBO picked it up and I watched it several more times and liked it more each time.
