WOW.....how did I miss this one.
Favorite Movie Quote: "I'm gonna f*ck you so hard, you'll be coming out of your ears. f*ck you..."
Happiness is a very strange film with some exceptional acting. The plot is simple but the actors and dialogue carry the film to being almost a masterpiece.
Telling the stories of several different characters that kind of intertwine...this film will just amaze you with the level of character development that it achieves.
The only complaint I have is that the film seemed rather long. I wish it would have ended about 30 minutes before it did so that's probably what hindered a higher rating from me. I was also just tired as hell trying to finish it.
Some of the scenes really made ME feel awkward which never happens but they definitely had a "nothing is over the top" attitude when filming. I didn't feel uncomfortable watching it but some of the scenes just shocked me as a viewer and kind of made me cringe a little bit.
Philip Seymour Hoffman is a GOD. Yes if you read my reviews you are probably tired of hearing about how great he is. I cant say enough good things about him and if he only looked like Tom Cruise he would be one of the biggest actors on the planet. He ALWAYS delivers with ANY character. He plays this wacky nerdy sex pervert that calls random people from the phonebook and tries to have phone sex with them and its actually quite hysterical.
This film deals with people of all types...being depressed people, pedophiles, perverts, etc.... so im sure something will keep your interest.
