Movie Review by Zara
March 6th, 2007

Angie when she's really good... and bad

A biopic about one of the most popular fashion models of the 1970's, a woman by the name of Gia who eventually became a raging heroin addict and died from AIDS, Angelina does a great job playing her off as being fearless and suicidal at the same time.

If you're into an Angie who didn't have a lot of tattoos and appears nude a great deal, this is the movie for you. Gia was a full fledged member of the sisterhood, also known more commonly as a lesbian, so there's plenty of good sappic lovin' portrayed as well.

However, it's also devistatingly sad to watch such a beautiful woman lose herself in dugs and nothingness like Gia did. She never seems to find her anchor and just keeps getting used over and over by the people around her who later abandon her once they've used her up. (The scene where she's passed out from almost OD'ing and they just set up the shots around her body and take their pictures anyway is the most telling.)

A great movie. A great Angelina.

I'm not a huge Jolie fan but I loved this movie and she really impressed me as Gia.
