Movie Review by Zara

Atypically typical

More or less this is what it looks like: Zach Morris goes to college.

In an attempt to distance himself from his bubbly popular television show character, Mark-Paul Gosselaar dyes his hair black, drinks alcohol and smokes pot. Ooooo.... shocking!

This movie takes some time working up a good speed. The beginning starts off too much like many of the other college comedy movies, with the aggressive roommate, the good studier roommate and the partier roommate. It gets interesting only when the guys figure that they can get themselves out of academic hot water by getting the most suicidal student on campus to move in with them and kill himself so that they can earn automatic straight A's.

There is enough to this movie that is unique and interesting, including one of the best set of opening credits that I've seen in the last 10 years. It also features some appearances by people who have went on to more popular careers. It's always fun to see someone earlier on in their career.

Oddly enough, this movie was rated R, mainly for suggestive sexual situations and some BRIEF strong language (a couple of "f*cks" thrown in) but is rather clean. I'm guessing the rating was based more on the fact that people might have been afraid of the theme of the movie, that some how suicide was glamorized or made to seem insignificant.

Yeah, because instead we should take it so seriously that we're not allowed to joke about how f*cking ridiculous it really is. Think about it, people...

Zach Morris! He was the ultimate on that show.
