Movie Review by Zara
March 14th, 2007

Two words: Sean Astin

This was a movie that was before its time. Had it been made and released in more recent years, perhaps people would have taken more of a liking to it. The problem really hinged on the fact that a movie mocking a presidential figure was released during the time that we had a popular and well liked president in office.

I'd love to see this movie recast and tried again in the next year. I guarantee people will receive it better.

The main reason why I remember and enjoy this movie so much are for the character actors on the side. From the coke snorting Sean Astin (honestly, the most underrated actor in Hollywood) to Oliver Platt as one of Beatty's aides, this movie is all about the subversive. Don't look at it for what it instantly delivers. Look at what it's telling you underneath.

This is one of my favorites and not just because of Halle Berry. Beatty is fantastic, the story is a hoot, and the message is real. And, what a cast!
