Too much Too fast

Looks like Keanu made a sound choice to bail on this sequel.de Bonet does justice in returning to the helm for the second run, but as previously mentioned his eyes were too big for his stomach.Everything that made the first film a success was practically thrown out in place of over the top extravagances. The lone bright spot was villain Willem Defoe who turns in a very convincing performance as a manic madman bent on causing immeasurable damage to a city port.Over stylized and somewhat forced at times not only does the picture miss the mark but so does the dialogue. It's no wonder this wasn't a box office draw given it was greenlit on sheer title alone. The rest of the cast tries to take it in stride and work with what they're given but you can see on their faces that even they knew this one was going to be on the value rack at the local gas station someday.I'm not saying it's horrible but it's definitely not worth spending money on if you absolutely don't have to. The story is cookie cutter, the script mediocre, and the end results are over the top and over priced!
