As Close To Perfection as Our Era Will Produce

A moving story about the desperation that can grow within a marriage, within a family. This movie is true to anyone, as much as it is to me. I was not alive in the 70's, I have never been to Connecticut, but the emotions and circumstances are universal to our North American quiet desperation. With a dream cast (Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Allen, Elijah Wood, Christina Ricci, Tobey Maguire and in her first big-screen role, Katie Holmes), an amazing director in Ang Lee ('The Wedding Banquet', 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'). This film is as close to perfection as I have seen in recent years.
