Movie Review by Movie Addict
January 6th, 2009

Favorite Movie Quote: "Sometimes the shepherd needs the comfort of the sheep"

Imagining Peter Parker as a virgin is not hard, but I never suspected I would see Tobey Maguire taking bong hits.

But, that is just the beginning of the Ang Lee film that will surprise you.

Let's see: Paul's (Tobey Maguire) parents are Ben (Kevin Kline) and Elena (Joan Allen), and Ben is sleeping with Janey (Sigourney Weaver), who is married to Jim (Jamey Sheridan). Paul's sister Wendy (Christina Ricci) is fooling around with Janey & Jim's sons Mikey (Elijah Wood) and Sandy (Adam Hann-Byrd). Paul has a thing for Libbets (Katie Holmes), but his roommate, Francis (David Krumholtz) always manages to get the goods before he does. Dot (Allison Janney) organizes wife-swapping parties.

Just some typical fun in the burbs. Fine performances by a cast of favorites dealing with family dysfunction and loss.
