A cast of thousands!

I don't know why I hadn't heard of this movie. It stars so many people (albeit, mostly in minor roles) and was directed by a Gyllenhaal (Maggie and Jake's dad). But after watching it, I understand why it is lesser known.

The movie is erratic in its delivery, pace, timing and genre. It's a movie about marijuana but it doesn't have the comedy aspect that most weed movies have. (Aside from a couple of choice moments.) And it's not one of those "learn your lessons!" movies either.

I'm not quite sure what to think of this movie. I might need to watch it a couple more times in order to get a proper feel on it, but as it stands I thoroughly enjoyed the movie if only for Azaria and Lynch, two of the most underrated character actors in the business. Plus watching Reinhold as a cop again is funny in and of itself.

Watch the movie and help me fill in the blanks, people. I think I might have gotten too much of a contact high from it to really evaluate it properly.

I remember watching this flick and enjoying it, Hank's hair alone makes me laugh....maybe I was stoned??... I love Billy Bob in almost anything...and Ryan Phillipe was as adorably clueless as always.....wasn't the ending sad though Zara?? I think I shed a tear.

I must admit that it just wasn't right. It was downright tragic.
