Favorite Movie Quote: "No, I haven't seen anything and I don't need to see anything sir but I can tell you... this ship is f*cked."
Event Horizon was a huge box office failure the reason I believe was poor marketing. It is a strong movie with a great plot, good special effects and a great cast. I can not remember ever meeting someone that hated this movie but I have seen it trashed before from other critics.
The cast is led off with Laurence Fishbourne, Sam Neil, and Kathleen Quinlan which all have extensive resumes and have been around the acting game for quite sometime. They all deliver great performances, especially by Sam Neil which I was not a fan of before this picture but now I like him and look foward to his future work.
Event Horizon is a spaceship that disappeared in the galaxy years ago. The Lewis and Clark is a ship sent to investigate its disappearance when the Event Horizon appears on a radar out of the blue. The crew finds an abandoned ship and now must figure out what happened to the crew and where the ship has been for all of these years.
This movie scared me to death when it came out, it was one of the scariest motion pictures that I had ever seen. You think that the movie is going to be your typical space movie/sci-fi that something goes wrong.........Well its far from that. Event Horizon is a horror movie set in space. It mixes sci-fi elements with a horror twist that creates a very edgy and terrifying formula. If you like very disturbing images, along with an eerie setting and an extreme horror edge then I would surely recommend that you check it out.
