Sly is the man.
Favorite Movie Quote: "Moe Tilden: I gave you a chance to be a cop and you blew it"
Who says Sylvester Stallone cant act? If you believe that then you are just in denial and not wanting to give respect to a man that deserves it. Yeah some of his action films suck and his acting is not always award worthy, but in Cop Land Stallone took a chance just to prove that he was a serious actor and he succeeded.
The story is just wonderfully written by a new comer James Mangold. The characters are written so well that you know he must have used real life people he knew personally and converted them to what we see on screen.
The cast is just ALL STAR....Besides Stallone you have a wonderful performance from Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, Janeane Garofalo and Michael Rapaport. Really this film is almost nothing short of a masterpiece.
The plot hits home on a subject not too far fetched from the truth. Most cops are good people but there are dirty ones and I believe that most cops will lie, cheat, steal or do whatever they have to when it comes to protecting their own. I can respect that, you never kick a man when he is down and you dont leave your fallen brothers behind.
I know in a city about 15 miles from mine there is a neighborhood that is called Cop Land because of all the police officers that live in it, hell maybe SuperBoy is hiding there right now.....you really just never know.
