Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie
March 10th, 2007

Guest's Great Theatre Caper

Christopher Guest's mockumentary about the self-seriousness of local theatre troupes is one of the funniest movies of the 90's.

Corky (Guest) sets out to tell the story of the town of Blaine, a town 'famous' for making stools, for its 150th anniversay. He and his troupe (Fred Willard, Catherine O'Hara, Parker Posey and Eugene Levy) are hilariously bad in their performance while waiting for Guffman, a Broadway producer to come and see them perform.

This film is almost too real. If you have ever been involved in a local theatre production you may not be able to watch, it may be that uncomfortable. But it is well worth it.
