Movie Review by Tim
January 12th, 2008

I'm about to mount this here filly!

Striptease is a bad movie, there is no doubt about it. I do not think that it is as bad as most people do. Really I wanted to give this film a slightly higher rating just because I thought Demi Moore deserved some credit for her performance.

Demi Moore was a surprise to everyone when they found out she was doing this film. She was not the type of actress that people were expecting to take a nude role of a stripper. Almost (not quite but almost) as shocking as former Saved by the Bell's Elizabeth Berkley taking the role of a stripper in Showgirls. However Moore did great, she got her body in the best shape it had ever been, learned the dance moves to make herself look as a veteran stripper and gave an overall believable portrayal of an exotic dancer.

Her loser ex-husband Robert Patrick (which in reality really is dead-on from dancers that I have known) is a con-man that specializes in stealing medical equipment from hospitals and even goes as far as using their daughter to help him. Patrick is another great cast for the film which seems to always get overlooked.

Ving Rhames plays his normal tough guy role this time as a bouncer / body guard for the club. Burt Reynolds which everyone trashes in the film to me was a unique character for him to take and at least show that he could be funny. I thought Reynolds was pretty cool and definitely the most memorable character in the film.

If your one of the people that has written a review of this film before that started the review off saying "Why Demi, Why???" Well WHY is because she was paid $12,000,000.00 that's right 12 million dollars for her role which at the time was more money then ANY actress has EVER received for a film....that's right she broke a record. Do you really think she cares if you like it or not, she made enough money off of ONE film to never have to work again.

I don't think that you would waste your time with this film if you go in with low expectations and understand that the script is bad but that there is familiar faces and Demi Moore nude!!
