Larry vs. Jerry

With the passing of Jerry Falwell it's only fitting to review the 1996 film 'The People vs. Larry Flint'.

Starring Woody Harrelson as Larry Flint the movie chronicles Flints rise to fame and his fight with the government and people like Jerry Falwell over freedom of speech, libel, censorship, and the First Amendment.

This is truly a thought provoking movie with great performances from Harrelson and Courtney Love playing Flints wife.

The film has one of my favorte moments when Flint is talking about the hypocracy of people and media as a form in a slide show to remember.

A quote from Flint 'Politics is my hobby. Smut is my vocation.'

And whose to say Politicians aren't to far from that anyway.

I loved this flick. I also love that Falwell is dead. I'm just twisted that way. (Courtney, no matter what people say about her, was fantastic in this movie.)

I loved this film and was very impressed with Courtney Love she's got real potential when she gets of the smack and cleans herself up.
