Its hard to make a teen pregnancy movie original. but 'Manny and Lo' pull it off pretty well. for one thing the characters are real, likeable, and diverse. Scarlette Johansson does and amazing job in one of her first films. Manny (Scarlette Johansson)is thoughtful and mature, while her older sister Lo(Aleksa Palladino) is fierce and untrusting. They manage to take care of each other after they become orphans, stealing from stores, breaking into houses and hiding from the police. but when Lo gets pregnant, they are forced to move to the country. they kidnap Elaine(Mary Kay Place)a lonely middleaged woman who works in her nieces baby shop. The Three of them hide out in a house in the woods, and wait for Lo to have the baby. ill leave you with the funniest quote in the movie. the movie isnt a comedy, but.....oh well
