Poor Bill
Poor Bill Murray. He'd gotten to a point in his career when he'd been replaces with the new generation of comedy dumb guys, outshined by the Adam Sandlers and Chris Farleys of the new generation. He hadn't made many movies around this time, being passed over for being too old or just not hip enough.
This movie was most likely a "for the paycheck" film and it is lousy in every regard because of that. There is a brief time when you get to laugh at a young Matthew Maconaughey, but there really isn't much to laugh at aside from the fact that he's in such a bad movie.
This is pretty flat out godawful.
