Movie Review by Zara
December 6th, 2007

God, this movie was depressing. Worse than the first one but in a way that didn't hold any redemption. It was hard to watch TERMS OF ENDEARMENT and see the mother/daughter relationship and the torture that Debra Winger's character goes through over the course of her lousy marriage and illness.

But this film, the continuation of the story in which we see all the children of Winger grown up and Shirley MacLaine's domineering character trying to keep them all on track is just boring, slow, and depressing. The first film you actually cared about the characters. In the film you'd like to take them out back and shoot them yourself.

I give the movie slightly more credit for getting Jack Nickelson on board as his scenes with MacLaine were some of the best from the first movie and that magic slightly carries over into this one. But other than that, there's really nothing about it for me to recommend.
