Movie Review by Zara
January 7th, 2008

The chemistry between Chris Farley and David Spade was what won me over about a movie that I found mostly lame otherwise. It's in this film that we get the eternal "Faaaaat man in a liiiiiiittle coooooooat!"

But there are elements to this movie that quickly get overlooked while the film is busy focusing on this mismatched pair. While the two are great together, Rob Lowe as the gold-digging boyfriend pretending to be the son of Bo Derek is great, playing pretty boy while maintaining that level of evil that was so enjoyable about him in WAYNE'S WORLD.

Between TOMMY BOY and BLACK SHEEP, the other Farley/Spade teaming, this is far and away my favorite of the two. There's more heart to it, the apologies of a stupid son trying to make right to his father's wishes and the uptight guy learning that making fun of the fat guy, while amusing at first, is less fun than finding out what a good friend that fat guy really makes.
