Dirty Dancing in Drag?

First off, let's just get right to the guys in drag. Wesley Snipes and Patrick Swayze aren't the drag type! That's what I thought when I saw the cover. John Leguizamo is more likely to do it for the laughs, so he didn't surprise me. They did really great jobs in these roles though and they are funny as heck!

The title is a little long and it doesn't tell you anything about the movie, but I liked this story of 2 drag queens, Noxeema Jackson (Snipes) and Vida Boheme (Swayze) on their way to Hollywood for stardom. They end up taking along a young amateurish drag queen, Chi-Chi Rodriguez (Leguizamo), to show 'her' the ropes. Grabbing a cheap Cadillac on the way proves to be just that...cheap. It breaks down they are stranded in a small hillbilly-ish town miles from anywhere.

They get some weird looks at first, but make friends fast. It's a cute story and the things they learn from each other are awesome. This is one of my favorites, so I hope you'll give it a look and maybe it'll be an addition to your faves as well.

Leguizamo looks incredible as a woman, doesn't he? It's just too bad that most of the concept of the movie was ripped off from ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT.
