Movie Review by Richard
June 1st, 2007

Cocaine's a hell of a drug!

Oh no, this wasn't about that. I thought Jeff Goldblum was in this movie?

OK, this is another bad girlfriend loved it and wouldn't stop making me watch it movie. So I have a pretty negative bias regarding this movie, so I'll try to be as polite as possible.

If you've ever lived or gone to school in a back-water, time-warped, redneck town in middle America, you will love or hate this movie. I'm of the latter. Bad acting, bad writing, Jeff Golblum trying to look sensitive and caring, and comes off as, well Jeff Goldblum. Shallow character development. It felt like an after-school Disney movie.

I know it got all sorts of critical acclaim in the day. At least in Minneapolis, which isn't saying much. That alone should have been a clue to me to avoid this movie.

But, its OK if you like it. The concept isn't all bad. The execution is what I couldn't stand.

I liked this one, its actually the only movie Sean Patrick Flanery has been in that was memorable.

Bollywood actually did a remake of this called Alag which I just have to find the image of a singing dancing east indian version of Powder to be mucho entertaining.

Hey wasn't Sean Patrick Flanery the Young Indiana Jones? I loved that show.

I did like this movie, too, but I haven't seen it since it came out. It kinda is like a after-school Disney movie.

Yeah, he was.

I didn't really like the movie, but I will give him credit. The man doesn't get enough recognition for his acting skill.
