Movie Review by Jacob
March 15th, 2007

Apparently this is one of the forgotten Scorsese movies. I was surprised to find nobody had really reviewed it.
I find that not many people have seen this movie and it's a shame because it is a really great movie. One of Scorsese's best. It is also a best for Joe Pesci, granted the man has done few movies but I really like him in movies like this where he is a mobster and not just any mobster: he's the tough guy.
Pesci stands a bit over five foot and yet you mess with this F***** and you are DEAD and buried in the Las Vegas desert. It's so easy to mock this short man but in all reality I found myself cringing anytime somebody got the least bit mouthy with Pesci's character because I expected a punch right to their face. DeNiro did well but Pesci undoubtebly stole the show. Great story.

Pesci was absolutely outstanding in this movie - I thought better than in Goodfellas.

I would agree. it's too bad he's getting along in years and isn't going to be able to pull off those "tough-guy" roles any more.

yeah its hard to watch Pesci get beat with a ball bat while laying in his underwear but this movie is one of the last great mobster films.
