Based off of real events of one of the worst NASA tragedy's. In 1971, NASA plans to send out people to the Moon for a lunar mission. They have chosen astronauts Jim Lovell, Frad Haise, and Jack Swigert. They have launched into outer space successfully, however, a slight fault from inside the space module caused an explosion that turned the exploration into a test for survival for the crew of Apollo 13. While Loveel, Haise, and Swigert try to survive in space. The workers at NASA (including Ken Mattingly) try to figure out a way to get the astronauts home safely.
Apollo 13, directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon, is no doubt an amazing movie. It's a story of heroism, courage, and the feeling of never giving up. While based on real life events of the time, Ron Howards does an amazing job with capturing the events well and everything from suspense and emotion and handling it with perfection.
The emotional intensity of Apollo 13 is surely intense. While the opening party scene is my favorite scene in the whole movie, I felt as if every emotion he characters go through are extremely real. It kind of seems more like a documentary then it is an actual movie. Its done with extreme realism and portays these characters in an amazing form and the character development was fine.
Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon all did an amazing job all together as actors. Tom Hanks put on a performance which was just captivating and done very well. Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon also put on an amazing performance and never did it to well or to bad. Everything was equal in all their own ways.
So, Apollo 13 is an amazing movie. This film should go down in history much like those astronauts.
