Movie Review by Steven
July 27th, 2007

"Wes Craven's New Nightmare" is a horror film within a horror film basically. Ten years after the original "A Nightmare on Elm Street", Craven brings original stars Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, and Robert Englund. The film opens with a modernized "claw", run by special effects nerds, goes berserk, and kills people on the set, and then goes into reality.

The film crosses the line between fantasy and reality in a creative way. There is even a scene involving Robert Shaye, founder of New Line Cinema, who distributed the series.

This film came out before the "Scream" movies, and even though those films created more buzz than this one, "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" is better than all of the "Scream" films. It is more creative, better put together, and id you think about it more intriguing. Craven is a gifted thriller director ("Red Eye").

I know few people who rave about this film, and many who have not seen it. If you have not seen it, it is a definite must watch, and if you don't like it: oh well.
