The Professional (1994)

Luc Besson's Best
Luc Besson's masterpiece about a one-man professional killer who takes in a forgotten child and teaches her how to be like him.
Jean Reno gives colors to this character hidden underneath the gruff exterior and your heart breaks with how much he changes over the course of the film.
But, my god, Natalie Portman was a genius young actor. She kills you with a glance and is tougher than most actresses twice and three times her age.
If you haven't seen this movie, run out and rent it. Yes, it is violent, but it is worth your time.
