Jason's Lyric (1994)

Play that song again.
I will never forget when "Jason's Lyric" was released in 1994. I feel it's one of the few films that displays African-American love and sexuality in a poignant and explicit way.
The film stars Jada Pinkett-Smith when she was just Jada Pinkett as Lyric and Allen Payne as Jason. The story involves Jason coming to grips with his brother, his family and balancing that with his relationship with Lyric.
The sexuality between the two makes the screen steam up. The film initially got an X-rating because the MPA at the time didn't think America was ready to see such a display of African-American sexuality. A display of Black sexuality. But after the film makers cut a few seconds of the sex scene it was given an R?
What a joke!
The film is definitely worth seeing.

| I just remember the smokin' hot sex. Aside from that, I can't recall what this movie was about. |
