Movie Review by T
April 27th, 2007

Disturbing, in a good way.

This movie about an extremely controversial (for the time) 1950's murder case in Christchurch manages to treat the story in a really sympathetic manner and remain true to the timeline of events. It was brilliantly done, and gives enough scope that the viewer can see both sides of the coin - both the victim and the murderer's. It treats the story itself with compassion and respect, a tragic sequence of events that lead up to the murder of one girl's mother by two confused and emotionally disturbed little girls.

For me, it's all about watching this movie for Kate Winslet. The dawning of greatness, really.
