depp dose a wounderful job of capturing the strange but gifted ed wood...aka..king of the "b,s''...he made movies the way he wanted to see them and did,nt give a rats butt about how they were judged by his fellow filmmakers,something todays filmmakers should take a clue from,instead of making movies that they think will win them some award,they should make movies that they them self would want to see if they were the payingmovie going public....ed may be forever known the wrost filmmaker of all times but to me he is the greatest out of the box offbeat filmmaker of his time,infact,his movies are still watched and rented then most of those highly rated works of gems by more respected filmmakers, the true way of judging a movie, the test of time...ed wood....the peoples filmmaker.
