This is my was my favorite movie of 1994, based on a comic strip (which I never read) "The Crow" is a dark gothic movie with reference to Poe (which I love as I'm a big fan).
Brandon Lee certainly went out with a bang (no pun intended...I lie it was totally intentional) in this his last performance as Eric Draven. Eric is a musician who is raised from the dead by a crow to get his revenge on those who brutally took the life of him and his fiancée.
94 was a very dark year for me as a 15 year old, I lost my idol Kurt and this movie satisfied my melancholy. My friend and I watched it so many times we reckoned that we knew the exact spot they switched actors, due of course to the actual death of Brandon in the shot gun scene in which the gun had mistakenly loaded with live amo...if I remember correctly.
I must also mention that this movie had a wickedly good sound track. The worse thing about this movie is that it spawned some hideously bad sequels, for me this is the only Crow movie, and there is only one Crow, Brandon Lee.

| This should be on my list of favorites because I have the movie, the soundtrack, the poster, and the necklace with the ring on it. You're right, the sequels are terrible! |

To me, this will always be a classic for my generation. I remember when Brandon Lee died and how they weren't sure if it was tacky to release the movie. I even remember rolling up in my boyfriend at the time's white '69 Mustang with the soundtrack blasting.
This movie always brings back mixed memories for me. Totally what makes a classic. |
