Movie Review by Tim
July 3rd, 2008

Drexl Spivey The Great.

Favorite Movie Quote: "Marty. Y'know what we got here? Motherf*ckin' Charlie Bronson. Mr. Majestyk."

For my friends it is no surprise the level of commitment I have for this film. My xbox360 live gamertag is DrexylSpivey. I have True Romance T-shirts, the poster, the store bought DVD, hell I even have a signed photo of Gary Oldman dressed in character of Spivey.

I first heard of this movie watching cable late night. I noticed a film called "True Romance" was coming on Cinemax and pretty much skipped right over it because it sounded like a romantic comedy or something. I then caught wind of the MPAA which had it rated R for violence, drug use, language and more and I decided to give it a shot.

The cast could have a novel written on it. You have so many famous people and known actors. Not too mention one of the finest examples of dialogue ever put into a film being the conversation with Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken with the whole "Sicilians are great liars. The best in the world. I'm Sicilian. My father was the world heavy-weight champion of Sicilian liars." Wow it gives me goose bumps just remembering the scene.

Also featured with the film is one of the greatest shootout scenes at the end of the film when you have police / against the mob / against a very powerful Hollywood directors bodyguards / with Clarence and Alabama right in the middle. I think the line "So what, they're cops, who gives a sh*t? Hey Lee, there's something I never told you about me: I hate f*ckin' cops" says it all.

Just an all around perfect movie. The characters are developed to perfection you really like each and every one. The scenes are intense and there is never a slow moment. This is another film that basically the whole script is written so well and so comical that you can use almost any piece as a one liner.

This is by far my favorite film that Christian Slater has starred in and it still kills me to this day that Quentin Tarantino only got $15,000.00 for this script because its my favorite film that he has written.
