SPOOKY, BUT STRICTLY FOR LAUGHS

Released in 1941 - HOLD THAT GHOST is definitely one of the very best of the "ABBOTT & COSTELLO" Comedies from that era. This was when BUD & LOU's career as a comedy duo was fresh and their jokes were actually still funny.

ABBOTT plays Chuck, and COSTELLO plays Ferdinand, 2 bumbling relief waiters working at the Chez Glamor club, getting themselves into all sorts of mischief, and what not.

When Chuck and Ferdinand are caught sampling the patrons' meals before serving them, they are promptly dismissed from their duties.

This termination of employment doesn't phase our 2 boys who soon find out that they have been left sole benificiaries in gangster "Moose" Matson's will.

Their trip to claim their "fortune" finds Chuck and Ferdinand inheriting an old, run-down tavern located on an isolated road, far, far from the outskirts of town.

The 2 pals soon realize that they are stranded at this old tavern with several other strangers, and, before long, they all discover that the place actually appears to be haunted.

HOLD THAT GHOST is a delightfully "scary" movie. It's good fun for one, and all, featuring THE ANDREWS SISTERS for musical distraction, and SHEMP HOWARD in a bit part as a soda jerk.
