Movie Review by Valerie
December 31st, 2006

Outstanding courtroom drama.

Philadelphia is perhaps a film that will mandatorily make you drop a few tears. But it's not a sappy flick filled with intentionally sad moments, it's a serious drama that is very powerful and touching.

Tom Hanks delivers one of his career highlights as Andy, a lawyer with AIDS who is fired from his job. Was he fired because he is a homosexual?

Denzel Washington is top notch as the lawyer representing Andy in court against the company who fired him.

An emotionally charged film, with excellent performances and a great soundtrack too, a film to reflex about society and ourselves. These are not just words, the film IS that powerful.
